At Dornoch Lochans, 1 mile from the town centre, there is open air recreation for everyone; novice and expert, young and old, in attractive surroundings with breathtaking views over the Dornoch Firth. You can fish and play golf or simply relax and enjoy watching the wildlife. Open 10 am – 10 pm/dusk, 2 pm – 6pm on Sundays. All equipment is available for hire. Fishing – April to September, Golf Range – all year.

The variety of birds which visit and take advantage of the Lochans include swans who nest on an island, wading heron, geese, mallard, teal, gulls, moorhen, oyster catchers, curlews, lapwing, sand martens, swallows and many smaller birds who come to breed. You may even be lucky enough to see our visiting ospreys plunging and taking a fish.
